3. More Competition
With five consoles available to consumers, each company will be trying to go the next step to win you over. I believe we'll be seeing a lot of updates with the consoles as they roll out, and I'm sure we'll all have a rough time of choosing which to buy. Competition is healthy for companies, as it keeps them honest, on their toes - and keeps gamers from being screwed over. We saw this in the current-gen; PS3 and Wii both featured an Internet browser, which Microsoft didn't release until 2012 - and when they did they also unveiled their SmartGlass, raising the bar.
