Nintendo NX: 10 Wishlist Rumours That Must Come True

9. Morphable Touch Screen Controllers

How insane does that look?!

Anyway - and bear with me on this, as it takes a little back n' forth explaining - back in 2014, The Japan Times reported that Nintendo were closing a deal with Sharp Co., a company who specialise in 'morphable' screen technology. This pretty much got debunked along with a couple of fake controller model blueprints, (read: Very basic sketches) but in March of 2016, we received an update, listing and linking Nintendo and Tactus Technology (another 'transforming screen' manufacturer) in various patents together.

What does this mean for gaming? Well, as everyone knows, gaming with touch controls for anything other than basic taps and swipes feels terrible, so if Nintendo have found a way to provide a controller that 'morphs' to suit whatever buttons are necessary for a given experience (and keep the option open to swipe and draw too - it'll be outstanding.

Think of backwards compatibility: What if you booted up an old NES classic, and the appropriate controller interface just rose up? Nintendo have always worn their legacy on their sleeve, and if that means you can revisit libraries of games with a controller that blends old and new simultaneously, our collective jaws would be on the floor for quite some time.
