Nintendo are taking steps to rival the PS4 and Xbox One with numerous reports suggesting the NX will feature an AMD x86 chip. Earlier this year, AMD's CFO Devinder Kumar announced that the company had two new products on the way: "I will say that one is x86 and the other is ARM, and at least one will be beyond gaming, right They are going to announce it and then you will find out that it is AMDs APU that is being used in those products.
There are strong hints that the NX is involved in that, and if so, it could see Nintendo mentioned in the same breath as the other two major consoles rather than put on its own lowly platform way below Sony and Microsoft.
