1. Morphing Controller

This is it, folks. This is the one. Patents have been leaked for a potential new controller, and the plans are very exciting indeed. This could be the shape of the pad, with that oval coming in the form of a morphing screen. It is thought that the touchscreen will literally move and shape itself based on the game you're playing. Welcome to 2016.

The theory is that you could load up a game and the buttons would actually rise out of the screen ready for use. I'm not making this up, this is happening. You could also use Zelda as an example. Running around Hyrule could offer up the combat controls, but entering a shop could alter the button layout to give you non-combat, suitable options. If Nintendo can pull this off, it could be remarkable. They need a tremendous console after a shaky few years, and this is their mid-cycle chance to win back the hearts of millions that doubted them.
