One source of discontent would be the fact that leaked patents in 2015 suggested that the NX would not come with a disc drive. This sparked wild rumours of a return to cartridges or similar mediums, though it's also entirely plausible that Nintendo are scrapping physical games altogether in favour of download-only titles.

It would be a big risk from a company who very simply need to appeal to a mass market with the NX and post enormous sales numbers after a rough ride with the Wii U. Of course, the world is all moving rapidly into an age of streaming and online content, but could the removal of discs be one step too far, too soon?
