Nintendo Switch: 10 Most Anticipated Exclusives Of 2021
9. Bravely Default 2
Confusingly, Bravely Default II is actually the third game in the series, given its chronologically inconsistent name in expiation for the apparent failures of the original number two, Bravely Second. Producer Tomoyo Asano even went as far as to apologise for the prior title, confessing it "did not meet the expectations of fans", promising the latest attempt would get it right.
Given Bravely Second was some distance from being a travesty, this degree of humility augurs very well for the third (second second) game. Classic Final Fantasy under a pseudonym, Bravely Default II sees a return of 'asterisks' - interchangeable job classes, in other words - as well as the titular Brave/Default system, whilst boasting an all new story and characters. That means everybody can jump straight in - though it does make the name even sillier.
After missing its 2020 release due to the pandemic, Bravely Default II launches 26 February worldwide.
