Nintendo Switch: 10 Third-Party Franchises We Need To See

1. Shin Megami Tensei

Speaking of hope, if you're hoping to play Persona 5 on the Switch, get off the train now; Atlus PR manager John Hardin poured cold water on that dream earlier this month. Even so, I see room for other Shin Megami Tensei games on the Switch, largely because the 3DS was home to some real standouts, like the Disgaea-leaning Devil Survivors series, not to mention Shin Megami Tensei 4.

This one goes back to the Bayonetta 3 conundrum in that I want to see the next Shin Megami Tensei on any console — primarily because the last SMT console release, Nocturne, was truly great — but the Switch does have an advantage.

Sony has the Persona sub-series all but locked up, but the DS did get the latest numbered SMT game. And in the absence of Persona 5, I'm willing to bet on that.

Mario and Zelda aside, what do you want to play on the Switch?

A freelance games writer, you say? Typically battling his current RPG addiction and ceaseless perfectionism? A fan of horror but too big a sissy to play for more than a couple of hours? Spends far too much time on JRPGs and gets way too angry with card games? Well that doesn't sound anything like me.
