Nintendo Switch Pokémon Stars Wishlist: 8 Things We Want To See
6. Make Stars A Direct Sequel To Sun & Moon
The ending to Pokemon Sun and Moon was remarkably good, all things considered. The story of Lusamine’s attempts to capture the Ultra Beasts was compelling, and wrapped up neatly with her being defeated and deposed. What made it particularly special, though, was the way it set each of the main characters on their own diverging paths.
What will Gladion do as head of the Aether Foundation? What will happen with Lillie’s adventures in Kanto? Will Hau be able to unseat his grandfather as Kahuna of Melemele Island or get one over on the protagonist?
I don’t know, but boy do I want to know. Because of that, making Stars a direct sequel to Sun and Moon is an absolute must.
The different follow-up games from each generation vary on whether they are an alternate version of the same events like Yellow or a direct sequel like Black 2 and White 2. With Stars, though, there is only one right way to do this.
The player needs to be an all-new character that encounters the different main characters of Sun and Moon at later stages of their life. Anything else would just be disappointing.
