Nintendo Wii U: 10 Reasons You Need To Get One

6. The Nintendo Wii U's Launch Was Not That Bad

If I convince you to go out and purchase a Wii U before next Christmas, then you should rest assured that there is a pretty good selection of games and software to choose from. Many retreated to the internet to complain about "the lack of games" for the Wii U when it finally launched on November 19th. The thing is, as far as most console launches go, the Wii U was not that shabby, especially in comparison to the disastrous 3DS launch. Mario U was arguably the best in the New Mario Bros series, while Nintendoland was a great demonstration of the controller and, in my opinion, as much fun as Wii Sports. Despite its polarizing effect it had on gaming journalists, I found ZombiU to be a breath of fresh (perhaps rotting) air in the survival horror genre. And as I've mentioned before, series that Nintendo Wii owners had missed out on, like Call of Duty, Mass Effect, and Darksiders, made their eagerly-awaited appearance. I totally get the argument that many of those games are available on other systems, but the fact of the matter is that there are several great quality games to play on the Wii U, and the library is only getting stronger.
