No Man's Sky: 15 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
1. You Can't Reload To A Savepoint
This is a biggie, and it's more a precaution to prevent you from screwing yourself over than a 'fun tip'. So the ground rule is: Interact with the beacon at the waypoint to save your game, that's the simple part.
However, if you've done a minor screw-up such as killing a creature you wanted to keep as a pet or blown a hole in the side of a lovely mountainside, resist the urge to reload your game, because this will kill you and reset your counter for the amount of days you've survived, rather than taking you back to that point in time.
If you've played Dark Souls, you'll already know what it's like to play something where time marches on no matter what, but just think of saves as spawn locations, rather than points in time.
Your items will still be retrievable from where you left your corpse, but dying on the way will eradicate them forever, creating a new pile of items wherever you died the second time.
It's good to know you can reload if you've nothing on you and want to get back to a given station or landmark, but probably best to never, ever do it...
