This curious thing feels like a demon straight out of one of those religiously-slanted German folklore books - Mephisto or Mephistopheles or someone.

Not that it quite has the menacing aura of a demon, thanks to the goofy undersized wings that so many creatures in No Man's Sky seem to possess, ensuring that it looks kind of helpless and silly instead.
