No Steam Download in EA List of Digital Distributors for BATTLEFIELD 3

Electronic Arts have listed the names of the digital distributors for their huge title Battlefield 3 and missing from the list is the biggest and most popular North American online digital distributor Steam.

Battlefield 3 and missing from the list is the biggest and most popular North American online digital distributor Steam. Last month Valve pulled Crysis 2 from their Steam catalog suddenly and EA says they are dropping Battlefield 3 from the distributor because of creative differences in downloadable content. Battlefield 3 is arguably the second biggest if not biggest game coming out this year and all the signs point to EA aiming to take down the Call of Duty franchise. However, if this is a long term feud Valve and Steam fans may need to start finding other digital outlets to purchase EA games from (which might be EA's goal even if they aren't saying it). I hope they work out their issues because Steam is the best digital distributor in America; and a continued fight between companies would mean Steam fans would miss out on a lot of big games, maybe the biggest in Battlefield 3. If EA stops putting their games on Steam, would you use Origin or would you refuse to purchase through EA and find an alternative digital download site?
