Reaper is an extremely easy-to-use character for those wanting to have a little fun trolling the opposite team: even beginners will be able to easily chain together Wraith Form, Shadow Step and a few Hellfire shotgun blasts to confuse the hell out of the enemy and rack up some easy kills.

At the same time, though, use of these abilities can also invite hubris, as you may end up in over your head quickly enough while surrounded by enemies and without any allies to help out. He's definitely a character who favours close-quarters combat, as from a distance he's not great and honestly pretty limited beyond his quick traversal options.
