Persona 3 Reload: Every Boss Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Nyx

Atlas

At the beginning of Persona 3, you are told that you will die at the end. And come the end, the God of Death itself, Nyx, descends upon Earth to make good on that promise.

Nyx is considered by old-school SMT/Persona fans to be a rite of passage for newcomers, for it is as long as it is difficult. 14 phases, each one different from and harder than the last. It is the ultimate test of everything you have learned from the game thus far.

What makes it such a masterpiece of a fight is the inescapable feeling of dread that permeates throughout. Phase after phase goes by, without Nyx even flinching or looking tired. All throughout the third act, the Arcana of Death - Ryoji - has warned you that Nyx cannot be killed. It IS death, to fight it is to fight a hurricane or the void of space. You will fight for every single inch in this boss, all the while Nyx reacts to your every attack passively. To this creature, you are, at best, a fly, and at worst, an annoying distraction on the way to work.

The only way to beat Nyx is to use a spell attained by reaching the ultimate Arcana to seal it away forever. Which, of course, costs the protagonist his life.

Both in the original and in Reload, the Nyx fight is a masterpiece and is the best boss in all of Persona 3 Reload.
