Persona 3 Reload: Every Boss Ranked From Worst To Best

3. The Emperor And Empress

Persona 3 reload
Atlas

The second boss of the game, and a significant improvement over the first.

This fight introduces you to Fuuka, who will take over nav duties from Mitsuru from here on out. The Emperor and Empress fight is not the hardest boss in the game, due to being the second, but its place in the story combined with the central gimmick of the fight makes it incredibly fun.

This boss introduces you to Fuuka's Full Analysis ability - where she draws from her own SP pool to scan the affinities of an enemy - and tests the variety of your Persona stock. The Emperor and Empress will shift their affinities every couple of turns, causing you to have to shift which one you attack and how.

Fuuka comes in handy, of course, but the heavy SP cost of Full Analysis makes clear that this is no game-breaker. Meanwhile, even when using Full Analysis, you only have Junpei and Akihiko backing you up for this fight, so you'll need to have a few Personas to cover the affinities they don't.

This all culminates in a short but very sweet boss fight that introduces a vital member of the team.
