The main reason why the launch event of the Sony PlayStation 4 fell flat on its face was because Sony inexplicably held the conference
without the console. It left fans scratching their heads in puzzlement and feeling, quite frankly, just a little bit insulted. After being invited to "see the future" by Sony at the end of January, many of us expected to see the next generation console, and quite rightly, too. In the end, fans just got a load of guff from developers about their upcoming titles and a quick look at the new DualShock controller. The launch simply didn't live up to its billing. Sony are now almost obliged to show us the PS4 following this disappointment and they obviously will do at some stage, but the sooner they unveil it, the better. Once fans have seen the aesthetics of the new design, excitement will start to kick in again, which is precisely what Sony need to achieve at this stage following one of the most underwhelming launches in history.
