Microsoft's announcement that backwards compatibility was coming to its latest console was greeted with euphoria at E3 a couple of years back.

PlayStation fans can only look on in envy at the Xbox One next door when classics from yesteryear are up and running at no extra cost to the user, so denying PS4 owners this feature was shortsighted on Sony's part.

Given that PS4 Pro and Xbox One X run games designed for their predecessors with enhancements, the demand for this kind of thing has never been higher.

And with this in mind, Trusted Reviews considers it imperative for the next PlayStation to offer backwards compatibility for PS4 titles.
