6. The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum

Way back in March 2019 (which I think was before I was born) it was revealed that German video game developer Daedalic Entertainment were working on Lord of the Rings: Gollum. One of the first titles unveiled for the next-gen of consoles it's an action-adventure that's set in the time between Gollum getting his hands on the ring but before the events of the books and films.

Carsten Fichtelmann, CEO and co-founder of Daedalic Entertainment, told The Hollywood Reporter; "We have the story that we all know from the book, but everything that happens to him before he appears in the book are the main things we will see in our game. We will tell the story before he first appears in the books."

Precisely what demand there is for a game where you catch and eat live fish while your loincloth gently flaps in the wind remains to be seen, but if the game can live up the lofty standards of previous LOTR games then it should at least be a good old time.
