1. 40-year-old Man Hunting At 3am Makes Some Unlikely Friends
After all the stories listed so far - some fascinating, some horrifying, all incredibly weird - let's end things with a feelgood tale about how Pokémon GO can bring people together.
40-year-old Redditor SlothOfDoom wrote that he couldn't sleep one night, so went for a stroll at 3am to see what Pokémon were around. Arriving at his local park (and PokéStop and gym), he bumped into a couple of "sketchy looking dudes" on a bench in the dark. These guys, it turned out, were also there for the Pokémon, and showed him where he could catch an Onyx nearby.
They chatted together, Sloth told them where they can catch an Eevee, and the two guys persuaded Sloth to join the red team, so they could "lock sh*t down in the neighbourhood".
Next, the cops arrived, suspecting that two black guys and a 40-year-old male in the pitch dark must mean a drug deal (sign of the times, eh?). They convinced the cops that they were only Pokémon hunting, at which point they told the officer about the game, leading him to download it too!
A sweet parable showing that maybe there is hope for everyone to get along, after all...
