Yes, it sounds stupid (and, frankly, it kind of is), but let's remember that when Pokémon GO was first released around a week ago, there wasn't much precedent on how exactly you're supposed to play it. So maybe that sort-of justifies the guy who threw his actual phone in an attempt to catch Pokémon?

Martin (go roast him on his Twitter handle @OfficiallyMJB), was confronted with a Charmander when he messaged his friends asking how to catch the fiery lizard. It seems that he got impatient waiting for a reply however (or was understandably afraid that the Pokémon would scarper), and threw his pricey (and glassy) Samsung Galaxy S6 at it.

As you can see from the picture, his plan failed, and viral fame for his hopeless idiocy ensued... though it did garner him a lot of attention, so maybe he's actually a genius?
