Pokémon GO 2018: 14 NEW Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You

It's back and better than ever.

In case you haven't been tipped off by scores of people moving in herds through shopping centres, Pokémon GO is back.

After one initial surge of popularity back in 2016 followed by a couple of years of updates, reworks and disastrous festivals, the announcement of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee on Switch seems to have revitalised the app tenfold.

Newly reported by SuperData, Niantic's runaway success has seen an increase in revenue by 174% across May, generating $104 million dollars, holding a player count of 147 million users. Such jaw-dropping stats mark a return to the highs we saw back in Summer 2016, and it looks like swathes of players are once again flinging pokeballs and battling in gyms the world over.

Regardless of whether you're returning or a newcomer, Pokémon GO in 2018 is a markedly different beast to what we got back at launch.

Both Gen 2 and 3 pokemon have been added for a start, plus a host of Alolan variations on the original 150 Kanto creatures. It basically guarantees you've got a TON more to catch - not to mention walking with a Poké-buddy, teaming up for raids and watching the weather outside to see what's spawning nearby.

Those former two have been around for months, but the latter is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to getting the most out of mobile gaming's must-play summer title.
