No matter which way it goes it should offer difficult and competitive battles against high level AI opponents for players to cut their teeth on.

Secondly, the prospect of battling series legends is far more enticing than battling randomers pulled from the streets of Saffron City. Wally and Cynthia have both been shown already, but of course the coup de grace is the return of Red & Blue, all grown up after twenty bloody years. It may not compare to the fight with the former atop Mt. Silver, but it will still be an awesome moment to battle the originals all over again.
