3. Lycanroc

Capturing the nuances of the seventh generation's version differences perfectly, Lycanroc has two forms depending on whether you evolve your cute little Rockruff in Sun or Moon. The Midday and Midnight forms have awesome, distinctive looks, but the variations don't stop there.

For a start, each one can have a different ability to boost its powers. A Midday form can have the Sand Rush ability, making its Speed stat double in a sandstorm while the Midnight form can benefit from insomnia by relying on its Vital Spirit. This latter version also gives you a 50% chance of encountering higher level Pokémon in the wild.

This Rock Type Pokémon will lean heavily on its key type attacks in the Midday form, whereas the Midnight form will, unsurprisingly, make use of a few extra Dark Type moves. Each one looks to be quicker than your usual Rock Type as well, meaning they're much better attacking options than other typically slower examples.
