Pokémon Sword & Shield: 10 Predictions Based On Galar’s Map
1. Dragon City Is The Villain’s Lair
One of the main cities in the game is this metallic, steampunk inspired effort right in the centre of the map. Although no gym is visible, there are several statues or carvings of dragons, so expect a challenge when you rock up here.
The setting looks much more intimidating than anything Pokémon has done before, which might be because the Switch gives them more creative freedom. It also has a huge wall behind it, possibly in reference to Hadrian’s Wall between England and Scotland, built by the Romans.
All of this could mean that rather than an underground lair or various meeting points, the villainous team have a full city at their disposal, and that you’ll need to venture to this place multiple times to stop them.
Team Skull were a decent break from the norm, but it looks like comedy gangsters are out and bonafide baddies are back. They might even have a gym again, likely the eighth one, stacked with strong Dragon types.
Whatever this city is, it’s surely going to be one of the key areas in the game, and it looks absolutely amazing.
