Pokemon Sword & Shield: Ranking Every Gym Leader
5. Bea
Bea’s quality somewhat makes up for Gordie, and she’s every bit the version seller that Allister is, just in a different way. Bea joins the ranks of the the lesser spotted Fighting type gym leaders, and is a great addition to the mix.
The feisty fighter has far more to say about things than her opposite number Allister, and is probably the most animated leader of the bunch. Her body language makes up for the lack of voice acting, fully selling her personality as a raging ball of fury.
Being an exclusive - and so very different from Allister - means she’s not used as much as she maybe should be in the story, and it’s that which keeps the medal places at arms length.
Much like Melony suiting Circhester, it’s clear that Bea is a much better fit for her own town of Stow-On-Side. Ground typing feels ideal, but considering her gritty aesthetic, Fighting feels almost as good.
Her gym trial is identical to Allister, and the whirly tea cups meets pinball game is great, but doesn’t exactly fit either. It doesn’t count in either’s favour over each other then, but both of them get a little boost from it.
