Pokémon Sword And Shield Expansion Packs: 10 Features Fans Demand

4. Mega Evolutions

Sword and Shield have dynamaxing, but that means that mega evolutions have been nixed. Gen IV added evolutions to original Pokémon that desperately needed some balancing. Gen VI responded to the growing response that lesser-used and underpowered Pokémon from previous generations needed a boost by adding more evolutions of the mega variety.

Then, Sun and Moon added Alolan forms, but both the new forms and mega evolutions had been primarily focused on the first 151 Pokémon. There's more work that could be done, and returning this feature with new additions would be met with strong fanfare.

The logistics might be strange to work out with dynamax in play, but the Pokémon that received extra help with mega-evolutions are now being left in the dust so that Game Freak can brag about their newest gimmick.

Even Sun and Moon had mega evolutions in some capacity. The z-moves can be left out, however. Sorry, z.

Have mega evolutions available immediately, in the new areas, or only after the main story is beaten. However it's decided, they should be implemented back in and here to stay.
