6. Mewtwo

Yep.

The closest thing Pokémon has to a singular and consistent antagonist, the focal point of both the first Pokémon animated movie and the surprising star of Detective Pikachu. The yardstick by which all other end of game boss hunts have been judged. Literally freakin' Mewtwo has been cut from the Pokédex for Sword and Shield.

Where everything else in this list maybe has a logical justification (or, more likely, they don't want older designs to take the focus from the new ones) there's almost no excuse not to have Mewtwo included in some capacity. If nothing else the potential for inter-trading through Pokémon Home has made several players of Go! and Let's Go! nearly break their necks in pursuit of Mewtwo, and all of that now will count for next to nothing.

As with everything on this list, I'm not angry, just disappointed.
