6. Players Kayak Out To Sea To Catch Pokémon Gym

Ok, that 'blind' part was a lie, but this one's still pretty interesting. Down in Wellington, New Zealand, a couple of GO players were out on the hunt, when they discovered a Pokémon Gym out in the ocean.

Poké Trainers Kelsey Thomson and Lizzy Eden weren't deterred, hired a kayak, and paddled out to sea to capture the gym for Team Mystic. A one-way trip to the gym (which in actuality was a giant fountain) took half an hour, though after several minutes of gruelling battle, the pair finally captured it for their side.

Unfortunately, the man from whom they rented the kayak was part of Team Instinct, and while he happily rented the kayak out to the intrepid pair, it seems that he went out to the Gym once they left and captured it for his side.
