Predicting The Metacritic Scores For 2016's Biggest Video Games

14. Mafia III (78)

Watch Dogs 2
2K

Both Mafia games to date have scored well with critics (the first nailing 88 on PC and the second hitting 74-77 across platforms), and so it's likely that Mafia III will follow suit.

It's best to expect a game that improves upon Mafia 2's complaints (that there's too much boring "busy work" gameplay and a lot of the characterisation feels generic), even if it probably won't manage to reach the heights of the ground-breaking original, given how many sandbox action games there are now.

Plus, there's the wild card of new dev Hangar 13 holding the reigns, for while they had help making the game from Mafia 2's 2K Czech, a new team working on the core of the title could prevent it from being anything more than broadly well-reviewed.
