Prey: 5 Reasons Why The Story Ultimately Fails
1. The Dangers Of Enhancement
A game like that should serve as a basis for such discussion, but really, apart from memory loss, are there any issues regarding leveling through Neuromods?
Presumably, Morgan changed because of constant memory resets. However, he still communicates with Alex and listens to him. To that end, is Alex not entitled to his own opinion, nor allowed to change it with time?
Blaming it on memory loss is rather, well, lazy.
January in turn claims that it is not the “first” version of Morgan that is the truest, but the final one, as it is closer to fulfilling its purpose, whatever it may be. This is a valid and interesting point that is sadly not expanded upon in the game. There should be more consequences of enhancement than a couple of flashbacks, which become understandable only once you reach the end.
This topic has been tackled better by Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which, although inferior and bland as a video game, actually 'got' what enhanced humanity was all about.
