PS VR: Ranking All Launch Games From Worst To Best
4. EVE: Valkyrie
In some ways, it must be tough being developer CCP Games. EVE: Valkyrie, long before its release on the Oculus Rift, was being touted as the must-have VR game, the killer app that would showcase what VR was truly capable of. That's a pretty hefty helping of pressure on top of already developing a new game for virtual reality.
It's not hard to see why such pressure was lavished upon the game however - in a sea of small 'experiences' and demos, gamers have cried out for fully-fledged, big budget VR titles and EVE: Valkyrie has delivered. It's a stunningly pretty space simulator, with a full single-player campaign and online matchmaking component. The game isn't restricted to being on-rails either - you fly your spacecraft from an intricately detailed cockpit and look to aim at enemies all around you in the virtual space.
EVE: Valkyrie has suffered from complaints of VR sickness, unsurprisingly due to the freeform nature of the spaceflight, but it still remains one of the most compelling reasons to pick up a VR headset, even if it's just to experience blasting down the runway of the launch hangar. Breathtaking.
