Last year's latest firmware update saw the biggest shakeup to the console yet, adding a feature you might have heard of in passing but haven't actually used - Share Play. The idea is that at any time you can let someone on your friends list 'take over' your console digitally, as if you were handing over the controller in person. Simply prod (or hold if you've changed the setting) the Share button and hit 'Start Share Play' - there you'll be able to give your friend control of the game you're on (either to let them try something out or give you a hand) for up to 60 minutes per title. Not only that, but if what you're playing only supports local multi-player, doing the same action will allow you to 'force' it into letting your friend join anyway, essentially making any local-only title enabled online. Note: Not all games support this, as some publishers insist everyone buy their own copy - here's looking at you, Activision and Call of Duty, where the feature is blocked - and it doesn't transcend region locks either. Trophies are still saved to the host account, but all in all it's a fantastic feature that really should be far more well known.
