The news of the PS4 being region-free passed quietly under the radar in the wake of the DRM news. Having region free support is a huge positive for any game console; not only does it make gaming easier and more economical, it also plays a very good support role and goes well in hand with offline gaming. Games purchased from any region can be played on any console, so people who often go abroad or like to import games and consoles for one reason or another will be able to play them just fine when they get back home.

Offline gaming and region free support sounds pretty solid to me, playing games offline, being able to play them from anywhere and everywhere around the world, what more could you want? Combine all of this with the $100 price cut from the PS3 and anybody would be sold, right?

Again, this is one of the many signs Sony has shown that they are keeping gamers in mind when they make decisions about the PS4 and how they will impact us.
