7. Psychonauts
Psychonauts 2 is set for the PS4 in 2021. The long-awaited next installment in the psychedelic platformer series is hotly anticipated by its fanbase who rallied round a crowdfunding campaign to get the game off the ground.
If the new game does well, it could give the series enough momentum to revive the original game on PS5. The original game has some serious potential on modern consoles. Its gameplay, storyline and setting were all top notch.
Sadly though, Pyschonauts suffered from some of the drawbacks of early PS2 titles. Character movements are a little unnerving, as sprites flail around like fish out of water while poor-quality rendering leaves faces looking like they've been sculpted from Plasticine.
Despite its quality, the original Psychonauts never got the recognition it deserved from the wider gaming public. A remake would provide the basis for a fun and creative PS5 title with added nostalgia value.
