PS5: 10 Ways Sony Are Letting EVERYONE Down

One wildly divisive gaming trend of recent years has been the glut of remakes coming down the pike, and no major publisher has more keenly invested in them than Sony themselves.

In recent years we've seen Sony remake Shadow of the Colossus, Demon's Souls, The Last of Us, and most alarmingly, recent rumours point to a Horizon Zero Dawn remake being in the works. To be clear, a game that's barely six years old.

Sony obviously sees commercial value in remaking their classic games, and remakes can certainly make these titles more easily available and accessible to large swaths of gamers, but there is a tipping point where it becomes too much.

After a time, one can't be blamed for feeling that dev time is being wasted on rehashing the past with a glossy new coat of paint rather than coming up with new IP for players to savour.

When you consider that, again, Sony's first-party line-up this generation hasn't done much to break new ground, knowing that they're going all-in on remaking their most beloved games leaves something of a sour taste.
