Kojima Productions (the rebranded version) has yet even to produce a game, regardless it is already one of the most talked about indie studios on the market due to its rockstar founder Hideo Kojima.

After a long and messy divorce from Konami (and Metal Gear Solid), this new venture displays the chance for the dev to create something completely unleashed. Whether that's a good thing or not, it'll be fun to find out.

Why Likely:

Kojima and Sony have been long-time buddies, the former's first big international breakthrough was Metal Gear Solid 1 on PSX, and despite the series eventually going multi-platform, it has always been synonymous PlayStation.

With the Konami split, Kojima was left without a home but Sony was there to pick up the pieces. Helping finance his rebranded new studio and their virgin voyage; the PS4-exclusive Death Stranding. It's basically a love-in at this point, so why not tie the knot already?

Why Not:

There are few negatives though; let's consider if Death Stranding is a messy ego-fuelled turd? It's an extreme consideration but it did happen to other well-regarded devs that broke free of their publishers (e.g. Mighty No. 9, The Devil's Third).

And then, with Kojima being a free man again, would he be that quick to get owned? He's happy to work exclusively with Sony for the near future, why corner him into a deal so soon?
