PS5 Pricing REVEALED - $200 More Than PS4?!

And Sony is STILL taking a loss.

During a recent report on Bloomberg into the current status of the PS5, the site revealed that developers currently working on games for the system expect Sony's next-gen console to cost anywhere between $499 and $549.

Other estimates from industry analysts suggest Sony could go as low as $449, but one thing is clear: the PS5 is going to be a far more costly machine than the PS4 was at launch.

That isn't entirely unexpected: unlike the technological jump between the last generation and the current, the advancements from the PS4 to PS5 are much more pronounced, with the parts of the machine being both scarce and pricey. While that means players will get a proper generational leap in tech, it's going to come at a bigger price.

What's also important to note is that, while the price will be inflated, that won't lead to bigger profits for Sony. In fact, even at the higher end of predictions, the company will still be expected to only break even on every machine sold, in the hopes the exclusives and games will result in profits further in down the line.
