Hoo-boy, if the details about the next PlayStation are accurate, our wallets are going to be hurting.

With 8K compatiblity, ray tracing and an SSD, the PS5 is one powerful piece of kit. That also means that it's going to be expensive.

When asked about the price directly, Mark Cerny didn't give much indication about what to expect, only saying that he thinks gamers will find it worth the price.

That is some good business talk for what seems like a $500 purchase.

This is the only real big worry about the next generation so far. With so much exciting information shown off, there's no surprise that whatever the PS5 ends up being, it's going to be an expensive machine.

That's also true of whatever Microsoft's next console is going to be. The Xbox One X was expensive enough, and that was only released at the end of last year.

Let's just hope that it's not too expensive.
