PS5, Xbox Scarlett & Nintendo Switch: 9 Things We Need To See

4. Xbox - Bringing The Exclusives

If there's one thing that really knocked Microsoft out of favour this generation, it was exclusives. From the lacklustre Halo 5 to the underwhelming release of Recore, Xbox didn't have much luck when it came to bringing must-play experiences to their console, however, with the purchase of a handful of talented new studios, it appears Xbox has all the tools to really bring the heat back next-gen.

Welcoming Ninja Theory, Playground Games, Undead Labs, Compulsion Games and the newly formed Initiative into their first-party line-up, it's clear that Xbox has a lot of extra talent on hand to push out some incredible new games. Better yet, the range of styles between each of the studios means that Xbox could produce itself one of the most varied line-ups they've had to date.

The combination of studios is utterly insane. Whether it's independent pioneers like Ninja Theory bringing emotional and progressive story experiences or technical powerhouses such as Playground Games bring expansively and graphically mesmerising blockbusters, Xbox really has a chance at making the next generation their own.

Bringing these studios in is Microsoft's promise that they're embracing a future filled with ambitious games for dedicated players. Now, they just have to make sure they can deliver on such a potentially mind-blowing line-up...
