Putting Some Survival In The Zombie Slaughterfest
Once Undead Labs launches Class 3 they will be looking towards player feedback to evolve the gameplay and create a much larger server hosted world for thousands of players to survive in with Class 4. With a solid foundation of creating a makeshift community in Class 3 the idea of sharing the world with thousands of players is both exciting and terrifying. I already imagine the wars and rivalries that will break out in order for resources. Day Z serves as a great example of the impact that the human element has on gameplay in Z-Day situation. Class 4 has the potential for players to form Guilds (of sorts) to form their own communities and supply lines. If one particular band of survivors has tons of water, and you have a surplus of food, you can set up a trade. If that doesn't suit your fancy live life as a bandit, and take what you need by force. The Undead Labs team could even focus on creating specific classes that serve as key functions to your survival group. Have a soldier that specializes in weapon handling, or an engineer that can build the defenses. If an engineer can build defenses, then I hope he can sabotage them as well. Nothing would be more exciting then sneaking to a rival groups base, and sabotaging defenses. Once the zombies begin to take them by surprise my band of survivors would be able to sneak off with supplies. http://youtu.be/-W5ZqDzZIQ4 The ideas that Class 4 is aiming to include are ambitious indeed, but The War Z is hoping to achieve these before Undead Labs has even released their first title. In an interview with IGN, Hammerpoint Interactive, points out the focus they're investing into creating a true zombie survival experience. Everything that players love about Day Z, and the potential of Class 3, is attempting to be implemented into The War Z. Players will have specific classes, day/night cycles occur, the human element is a dangerous factor, there are designate safe zone hubs for trading, and more. If you're a hardcore player at heart, fret not, because Hardcore mode will result in permadeath. The War Z is hoping to unleash a pure zombie apocalypse MMO onto the market by the end of this year, and it's definitely one of Z-genre games to be on the look out for.
