Ranking Every Kingdom Hearts Game - From Worst To Best
9. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
358/2 Days suffers from many of the same problems as Re:coded and it can even be considered worse in the gameplay department. Luckily, the whole experience is saved by Roxas, Axel and Xion.
This handheld title tells the story of Sora's Nobody Roxas, and his experiences with Organisation XIII alongside Axel and Xion. Xion is a brand new character for this entry, with her own connection to the characters of the series, and one of the most tragic backgrounds we'd seen so far.
The story remains interesting throughout, filling in the gaps left by Kingdom Hearts 2 and expanding upon two fan-favourite characters. Their heartwarming tale is the highlight of the game, making the HD cinematic version preferable over the actual handheld game because - like with Re:coded - the gameplay is the worst part.
Combat in 358/2 Days is monotonous and lacks any impact, which takes the joy out of fighting the Heartless. The only interesting features of the game are the ability to play as other characters in the multiplayer, and each Keyblade having a different fighting style, but even this can't save you from boredom otherwise.
Really, the only people who will enjoy 358/2 Days are the diehard fans. Anyone else can, and will, skip it.
