Ranking Every PlayStation Classic Game From Worst To Best
2. Tekken 3
Is this the greatest arcade fighter of all time? Such a question is bound to start a few brawls of its own amongst fighter fans. Obviously, graphically Tekken 7 is head and shoulders above Tekken 3. But the third instalment was where all the elements really came together for the first time.
Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and even the more modern Injustice all have their fans, but Tekken has a definite claim to the throne. It popularised 3D fighting, with characters able to sidestep as well as block or deflect attacks. The controls are the definition of easy to learn but difficult to master, with each button corresponding to an individual limb rather than attack speed or power.
Many fighting games can boast a huge, eccentric cast, but Tekken 3 can beat them and then some. The likes of Hwoarang, Jin and Xiaoyu all offer a range of styles to suit each player, as well as Eddie for button-spamming scrubs. On top of that though, there’s a man with a leopard head, a killer robot and - inexplicably - a literal panda.
