Ranking Every Video Game Joker From Worst To Best
6. Injustice/Injustice 2
Although his design is probably the closest iteration of the late great Heath Ledger's legendary portrayal in the much coveted dark knight, his characteristics and overall necessitation in the game he appears in are considerably minute in comparison.
Yes, his initial malevolent act of having Superman accidentally, and sadistically, murdering a pregnant Lois Lane is essentially the reason for the events to be perpetuated into motion, but, after this occurs, Superman immediately murders him and thus, the Joker is deceased throughout the substantially large remainder of the story that follows.
Which seriously puts the writers in quite a bind for the inevitable sequel.
The lacklustre design of the original Injustice game's Joker is, admittedly, vastly improved, but his overall presence within the game and the series going forward feels somewhat forced. His subdued role in the second game - which is a single hallucinatory fight in Harley Quinn's story chapter - feels like an afterthought, rather than something that feels wholly intentional.
Understandably, it is a predicament for the development team, as they couldn't really justify adding Joker as a DLC character in a DC-based fighting game, but it simply begs the question, how on Earth are you going to bring him back for the third title? In a dream?
