There's something about first-person platforming that just doesn't feel right, unless it's done exquisitely well.

Enter Mirror's Edge, a game that mostly nailed the momentum of flying through space faster than the average human, but fell down a tad thanks to forced combat segments and not a ton of gameplay variety overall. Fans cried out for a sequel to remedy what was left behind, to which EA finally obliged... and nobody showed up.

Catalyst seemed to come and go back at the start of June with nary fans or critics championing any aspect of its production whatsoever. Stilted voice acting, glitchy graphics in spots and yet more forced combat, Mirror's Edge seems destined to hop, skip and jump its way into the bargain bin.
