Much like WWF Raw managed to tick the right boxes to be the best wrestling game on both the Super NES and SEGA Genesis, so too does WWE 2K14 hold the moniker of being the best wrestling offering to hit both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Truth be told, you can easily make the argument that WWE 2K14 has not been topped or even equalled in the years since its release. As it stands, this 2K Sports release is the last truly great WWE game.

Not just was WWE 2K14 great, but its two predecessors - WWE '12 and WWE '13 - also deserve some special praise. Still, neither of those releases got close to the replayability of WWE 2K14.

Gameplay-wise, moves were smoother, reversals were better, and players were rewarded for trying to lay out an actual match rather than just spamming buttons, but the bigger stars of the show were the 30 Years of WrestleMania campaign and The Streak mode.

Getting to relive some of WrestleMania's greatest ever moments was a fantastic touch, and likewise getting to relive the Undertaker's 'Mania bouts was hugely enjoyable. Throw in the capability to have 100 created superstars and be able to import music, and you can see why WWE 2K14 is still so revered seven years after its release.
