Ratchet And Clank: Into The Nexus Announced

9257807616_75db80c650_z_zpsaa1dfb10 Gore dominated 3rd person shooter Fuse apparently didn't pan out like Insomniac had hoped. I'm also skeptical of their wacky open world Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive, furthermore, the franchise itself of Ratchet and Clank has been dwindling in quality and appeal itself. Part of that is due to some really odd design choices like 4 player co-op games and tower defense. It is almost hard to believe but the last time we have seen an old fashioned traditional Ratchet game was in 2009 with A Crack In Time. It's time to end the Future story arc with a bang though! Into The Nexus appears to be returning to the series roots while cranking everything up a notch. Much of the plot can't be gauged just yet although evidently Ratchet and Clank find themselves on a scary planet after transferring some villains goes wrong. The trailer gives us a glimpse of some new weapons including a gun that morphs enemies into snowmen. Yeah, you read that correctly. Clank also can now tether himself to objects expanding on the platforming. Zero gravity sequences will also be present. Insomniac also promises that multiple beloved characters will return. Personally, since it has Captain Quark being a loveable and gullible idiot, I'm already sold. All in all, it is a solid game reveal that looks to not only be getting the franchise back on track, but Insomniac as a development studio. As of right now the game is slated for a Fall release exclusively on PS3 although it's possible that a Vita version may come at a later date. Are you excited for Into The Nexus? Or have recent mediocre Insomniac games and subpar spinoffs killed your interest for the franchise? Let us know in the comments!
