On a long enough timeline, every developer under the sun will have dabbled in a battle royale mode. Pretty much the only new game mode that's exemplified this generation, Rockstar previously dabbled in its systems with GTA Online's Motor Wars, though that wasn't a "proper" mode - at least, not with the depth of a Fortnite or PUBG.

All that changes with RDR2, though there are no details as to how something like parachuting into a map will transfer to the old west.

My shout is that you'll come into the world on a stagecoach, deciding when to get off and scarper into any nearby building or piece of cover. Scavenging to survive and picking your spots is par for the course from then on in, and Rockstar have some of the tightest shooting mechanics in the business to back it all up.
