When it comes to Rockstar's love for fictional takes on real-world locations, Red Dead was no different. Texas was revamped into New Austin, with the likes of the Great Plains/West Elizabeth areas looking to be based on the Rocky Mountain regions of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming etc.

Using the placement of the Great Plains as a south-west anchor point on the leaked map, we can see that the new expanse of territory would cover what could be Louisiana, alongside more of the New Austin area.

Providing this map is the entirely of the game, it means Mexico is pretty much gone, putting the onus on exploring entirely American soil. However, that does make the game ripe for Rockstar's constant satire of western norms, racial tensions and more.
