6. Competitive Multiplayer

In a move that should surprise literally no one in the year of our lord 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 is said to feature a Battle Royale mode.

To Rockstar's credit, the idea of a Royale-style free-for-all does lend itself well to Red Dead's western setting. The frontier in particular was a wild, lawless place, and with thieves, bandits and outlaws all on the run, there's a thematic basis for such a mode to thrive in the next Red Dead.

It won't be the only PVP element to the next Red Dead however - classic multiplayer staples like team deathmatch, Money Grab (a pivotal mode of the first Red Dead's multiplayer), and something called 'Revive and Survive' are all said to feature according to leaks.

No words on Heists yet, but given the very heist-heavy nature of the period - as well as the fact those missions were the most lauded aspects of GTA V - expect Rockstar to resurrect them later this year.
