Red Dead Redemption 3: 10 Cities That Could Be On The Map
1. San Francisco, California
In addition to going north of the Grizzlies, Red Dead Redemption 3 is almost certain to go further west, beyond the Redemption Mountains of New Austin. If the game is in the market for a vast city in the west, there's really only one option: San Francisco.
Known as the Paris of the West, San Francisco's population skyrocketed after a gold rush in 1848. A sea of cable cars, theaters, and Victorian houses sprang up pretty shortly thereafter, culminating in the construction of Golden State Park in 1887.
It was - and is - a hub of culture, with writers like Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Ambrose Bierce, and Rudyard Kipling making it their muse. A red-light district known as the Barbary Coast popped up, acting as a hotbed of gambling and prostitution.
The city had a vast Chinese population, which often found itself the target of racist vitriol. Race riots weren't uncommon, and a violent militia - known as the Committee of Vigilance - took to the streets to enforce their own populist, draconian version of law and order.
San Francisco is arguably the strongest candidate to serve as the inspiration for RDR3's obligatory metropolis, and it'd be a welcome sight.
